Abstract: | We present a low-cost STEAM workshop for twenty-five Chinese migrant girls to learn electronics through making hats. Data sources include video recordings of all classroom activities and post-interviews of students. We analyzed post-interviews of all participants and then narrowed our focus to Meimei, a girl who expressed an interest in art design. We hope this study will inspire future designers and educators to design maker activities for local schools. |
