Abstract: Studies of games show that they are useful spaces for understanding learning. This paper explored learning in the African Songo board game environment to understand how learning occurs through audience-player interactions. The study revealed that this space enhances collaborative and argumentative scaffolding, which calls for further exploration of this setting as the field rethinks learning in the digital age.
