dc.description.abstractStudents analyzed the similarities (agreements) and differences (disagreements) between a set of two sources regarding why the authors thought Chicago had become a big city. The data we discuss provide descriptive information on three aspects of students' responses: (1) the response strategies they used, (2) how they would characterize agreement and disagreement across two sources, and (3) the rhetorical form of their written responses. Students' responses for Agree were more consistent than those to Disagree and, as expected, were related to the specific sources they compared.en_US
