dc.description.abstract | We present the design, implementation, and evaluation of a system providing adaptive support for collaborative learning at a tabletop computer. Adapting to support collaboration involves tackling several sub-problems: detecting when a group is struggling, determining when the system should provide support, what sort of support it should provide, and for how long. A classroom evaluation of our system showed it was effective at detecting collaboration breakdowns and provided preliminary evidence that just-in-time adaptive support for collaboration might help to deter disruptive behavior in small group settings. | en_US |
